Molecular Dynamics Group

    	The
Molecular Dynamics Group promotes competencies to assess
combustion relevant reaction mechanisms using spectroscopic
techniques. We apply non-linear laser spectroscopy in the
        frequency domain and time
domain, time-of-flight mass spectrometry and tunable
        synchrotron radiation to characterize short-lived
intermediate compounds and to investigate dissociation
processes of excited molecules. Expanding the scope of our
work, we intend to determine thermodynamical data of
intermediate species relevant in other fields such as
        atmospheric chemistry and astrophysics.

       	Our
group is in charge to maintain a 5 eV to 30 eV range VUV
beamline at SLS and a laser laboratory equipped with nano-
        and femtosecond laser systems .

      	The
Molecular Dynamics Group is a section of the Combustion Research Laboratory
        in the General Energy
Department of PSI and a part of the NCCR MUST
Molecular Ultrafast Science and Technology Network.
